Eating large amounts of sugar in a short time can cause rapid swings in blood glucose. This is especially bad for the brain, which relies on a constant supply of glucose”, explains Jordan (2021). Changes in blood glucose levels can sometimes lead to headaches, which look a bit like a hangover.
