The annual celebration of World Bee Day on May 20 raises awareness of the essential role that bees and other pollinators play in keeping people and the planet healthy, as well as the many other challenges they face today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, the number of bees, pollinators and other insects is declining. This day is an opportunity for all – governments, organizations, civil society and interested citizens – to promote actions that protect and help pollinators and their habitats, increase their abundance, maintain their diversity and support beekeepers and the sustainable development of the apiarian sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, there are many ways to join the cause to save the bees without having to venture into the hive ourselves.
